Softball Game Preview: Highlands Golden Rams vs. Indiana Little Indians

Highlands is 0-10 against Indiana since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Golden Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Little Indians at 4:00 p.m. Highlands is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Highlands is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 20 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Knoch on Monday. They lost 7-0 to the Knights.

Indiana came out on top against Freeport on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Little Indians never let the Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

Indiana's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Addie Stossel, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave Stossel a new career-high.

Indiana has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Highlands, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Highlands suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Indiana in their previous matchup on April 14th. Can the Golden Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
