Baseball Recap: Hillsboro Comes Up Short

Hillsboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 9-3 to the Lincolnwood Lancers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hiltoppers of the 13-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Nathan Matoush was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Ryder Dettman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Hillsboro's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lincolnwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Hillsboro will welcome Jersey at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincolnwood, they will head out on the road to challenge Pawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
