Softball Recap: Emerson Takes a Loss

Emerson fell victim to Park Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Owls by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cavaliers have suffered since April 5th.

Sophia Centeno spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Emerson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Seretis, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Emerson and nudges their season record down to 12-8. As for Park Ridge, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Looking ahead, Emerson will face off against Paramus on Saturday. Park Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
