Baseball Preview: Sumter Gamecocks vs. Conway Tigers

The Sumter Gamecocks will head out on the road to square off against the Conway Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sumter's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Conway's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Sumter came up short against Lugoff-Elgin and fell 8-5.

Sumter's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Conway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Sumter took their victory against Conway when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 7-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sumter since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
