Softball Recap: Water Valley Comes Up Short

Water Valley managed to slip by Strayhorn the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Devils came up short against the Mustangs on Thursday, falling 20-3.

Water Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addy Douglas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Water Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Strayhorn, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 3-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Water Valley will host Myrtle at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Strayhorn, they will be playing at home against Ingomar at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
