ConVal waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Merrimack Valley Pride. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pride, too.

ConVal pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Merrimack Valley, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. ConVal will take on rival Lebanon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Merrimack Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Laconia at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
