Basketball Game Preview: Del Norte Knights vs. Albuquerque Academy Chargers

The Del Norte Knights will challenge the Albuquerque Academy Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Del Norte's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.

Del Norte took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 66-34 victory over Bernalillo. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Francois Satchivi continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 of 9 en route to 18 points and three steals. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Davis, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Albuquerque Academy faced Hope Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Albuquerque Academy snuck past Hope Christian with a 54-49 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Albuquerque Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Del Norte, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Del Norte came up short against Albuquerque Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 74-62. Can Del Norte avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
