Volleyball Recap: Syria Baca and Olivia Fontanilla Secure Win for Minarets

Minarets won the last time they faced Mendota and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Aztecs by a score of 2-0.

Minarets was led to victory by Olivia Fontanilla and Syria Baca. Fontanilla had six aces and five digs, while Baca had 12 assists. Those six aces gave Fontanilla a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Minarets was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Minarets' record now sits at 8-9. As for Mendota, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Minarets has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Kerman on the 13th. As for Mendota, they will challenge Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
