Volleyball Recap: Foxcroft Comes Up Short

Foxcroft lost against Quantico back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Foxcroft took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Quantico. Foxcroft has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Foxcroft started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-17, 25-11, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Foxcroft saw an underclassman step up: sophomore J.J. Taylor had 18 digs. Those 18 digs set a new season-high mark for Taylor. Naia Stuart also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Quantico found their leader in freshman Stella Bartra, who had 20 digs.

Foxcroft's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Quantico, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Foxcroft wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Highland on the 16th. As for Quantico, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Tandem Friends on the 16th.
