Softball Recap: Lockhart Lions vs. Cedar Park Timberwolves
Lockhart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 13-7 to the Cedar Park Timberwolves. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Timberwolves earlier this season, when they won 8-6.
Genesis Lopez and Dani Valadez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lopez scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Valadez scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Marissa Sosa, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Lockhart's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Cedar Park, their victory ended a 20-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-13.
Lockhart and Cedar Park could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Lockhart (ranked 677th) will meet Leander (ranked 89th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cedar Park will challenge Glenn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (842 vs. 245).
