Baseball Recap: Pleasant Comes Up Short

Pleasant made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Galion, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Spartans fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday. The Spartans have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Jackson Payne made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Ryan Conway also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Galion, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasant will square off against Benjamin Logan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Galion, they will challenge Upper Sandusky at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
