Volleyball Recap: Calvary Chapel Falls to Whittier Christian in First Game of Season

Calvary Chapel unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Whittier Christian Heralds on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 14 in a row.

Calvary Chapel was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 25-15.

The win got Whittier Christian back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Chapel will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Segerstrom at 4:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for Whittier Christian, they will be playing at home against La Serna at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
