Football Game Preview: East Central Trojans vs. Connersville Spartans

East Central is a perfect 10-0 against Connersville since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Trojans will host the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. East Central will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

East Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past South Dearborn 66-6 on Friday. With the Trojans ahead 31-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Ethan Feldkamp had an outrageously good game as he picked up 88 receiving yards and two scores. Those 88 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Marsh, who rushed for 26 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

East Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 334 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 215 rushing yards in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.

East Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Karson Dorsey and Mitchell Karaus.

Meanwhile, Connersville managed to keep up with Indianapolis Crispus Attucks until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Spartans lost 30-6 to the Tigers. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

East Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Connersville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for East Central against Connersville in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-6 win. In that contest, the Trojans amassed a halftime lead of 48-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
