Soccer Game Preview: Bonham vs. Panther Creek

Bonham hasn't had much luck against Panther Creek recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bonham Warriors will look to defend their home pitch against the Panther Creek Panthers at 1:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Bonham took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Pilot Point a 1-0 shutout. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Panther Creek faced off against Celina on Tuesday. Panther Creek lost 3-0 to Celina. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Bobcats are ranked 26th).

Bonham's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Panther Creek, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.
