Basketball Recap: Mountain View Prep Takes a Loss

Mountain View Prep played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 59-29 defeat at the hands of the Broome Centurions. The Stars' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Leading Broome to victory were Dakota Mitchell and Diamond Martin. Mitchell dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 boards, while Martin went 8 of 11 en route to 18 points and six rebounds. Mitchell has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 24 times she's played. Kourtney Wofford was another key player, putting up five points in addition to eight assists and seven steals.

Mountain View Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Broome, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.

While Mountain View Prep had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
