Basketball Recap: Charlestown Triumphs

Charlestown hadn't done well against Scottsburg recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Charlestown Pirates walked away with a 62-49 win over the Scottsburg Warriors. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 59-23 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Anthony Fresh was a one-man wrecking crew for Charlestown as he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Demetrius Phelps, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 16 points and five boards.

Charlestown now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Scottsburg, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.

Charlestown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-25 victory against Clarksville on the 13th. As for Scottsburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-30 defeat against Brownstown Central on the 13th.
