Basketball Game Preview: Fairbanks Panthers vs. Columbus Academy Vikings

The Fairbanks Panthers will head out to square off against the Columbus Academy Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fairbanks comes in on 15 and Columbus Academy on 24.

Fairbanks is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They strolled past Harvest Prep with points to spare, taking the game 55-39.

Meanwhile, Columbus Academy humbled Pleasant with a 71-15 victory. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Columbus Academy's win bumped their record up to 24-0. As for Fairbanks, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-1.

Fairbanks lost to Columbus Academy on the road by a decisive 61-42 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2016. Can Fairbanks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
