Basketball Recap: Troup Beats Gladewater for Their Fourth Straight Win

Troup had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They snuck past the Gladewater Bears with a 41-36 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 617th, while the Bears are ranked 1513th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Troup is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Gladewater, they dropped their record down to 0-19 with the defeat, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.

Troup will host West Rusk at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gladewater, they will take on Tatum at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tatum knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Gladewater likes a good challenge.
