Baseball Game Preview: Inspiration Academy Red Lions vs. Cardinal Mooney Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Inspiration Academy Red Lions challenge Cardinal Mooney Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Inspiration Academy Red is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on March 14th, they were much more limited against Bradenton Christian two weeks ago. They fell 5-2 to the Panthers.

Carter Okuhara was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season.

Cardinal Mooney might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to Berkeley Prep, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cardinal Mooney saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was J.D. James, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits James has posted since back in February.

Inspiration Academy Red's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Cardinal Mooney, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.
