Basketball Recap: The Pinnacle's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While The Pinnacle didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 66-55 win over the Platte Canyon Huskies on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Timberwolves sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead The Pinnacle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Arellano, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 16 points along with seven assists and three steals. The contest was Arellano's third in a row with at least ten points. Mario Munoz was another key player, going 7 for 16 en route to 21 points and five steals.

Platte Canyon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Flores, who posted 21 points and three steals. Flores continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trevor Kirklin, who put up 17 points and three steals.

The Pinnacle's record is now 8-2. As for Platte Canyon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

The Pinnacle will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Lake County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Platte Canyon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-44 victory against Alameda on the 23rd.
