Baseball Game Preview: Nooksack Valley Pioneers vs. Blaine Borderites

The Nooksack Valley Pioneers are taking a road trip to take on the Blaine Borderites at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Nooksack Valley came up short against Lynden on Thursday, falling 16-3. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Colby Martin was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. Evan Brown also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Blaine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-1 to Lynden Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Borderites have suffered since May 4, 2024.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-4. As for Nooksack Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Nooksack Valley beat Blaine 8-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
