Baseball Game Preview: Chouteau-Mazie Wildcats vs. Summit Christian Academy Eagles

The Chouteau-Mazie Wildcats will challenge the Summit Christian Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Chouteau-Mazie has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight defeats, while Summit Christian Academy will come in with three straight wins.

Things were looking good for Chouteau-Mazie after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 14-9 to Locust Grove.

Chouteau-Mazie saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Garcie, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Another was Tayler Applegate, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Summit Christian Academy hadn't done well against Haskell recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Summit Christian Academy skirted past Haskell 6-4. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Summit Christian Academy pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Chouteau-Mazie, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
