Softball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but St. Ignatius College Preparatory ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Capuchino Mustangs by a score of 7-4. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Olivia Dollard spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Gianna Galarza was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Annabelle Pigoski also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Capuchino, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
