Softball Recap: Monterey Wildcats vs. White County Warriors
Monterey was the 13-3 winner over White County when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell 6-3 to the Warriors on Monday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Haylee Garthwait was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
Garthwait wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Trevathan, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Trevathan's first of the season.
Monterey's record is now 9-9-1. As for White County, they moved to 9-14 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.
Monterey has already played their next matchup, a 7-5 win against Watertown on the 15th. As for White County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-0 victory against Cumberland County on the 15th.
