Basketball Recap: Bianca Creales' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Montfort Academy over St. Saviour

Montfort Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Saviour Panda Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panda Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-14 back in January.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bianca Creales, who posted 20 points. That was a full 45.5% of Montfort Academy's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tafadzwa Ruvando, who earned 12 points.

Montfort Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for St. Saviour, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, Montfort Academy will challenge Varsity Opponent at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. St. Saviour does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
