Baseball Recap: Lincoln Christian Wins Going Away Against Lincoln High

Lincoln Christian was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lincoln High on Saturday. Lincoln Christian was the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over Lincoln High. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Links: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Caleb DeWitt, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Zach Clough also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lincoln Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Lincoln Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Lincoln High, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
