Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lakota East walked away with it. They blew past the Lakota West Firebirds 3-0 on Wednesday. The  victory was familiar territory for the Thunderhawks, who have now won 13  contests in a row.
 Lakota East walked away with the   win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-12,  25-17.
 Lakota East can attribute much of their success to  Carson Berling, who  had 11  digs and seven  assists. Those  seven assists gave  Berling a new career-high.  Austin Dreher also deserves some recognition as  he  had his first  block of the season.
Lakota East's victory was  their seventh straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 21-2. As for Lakota West,  they are  on  a  nine-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-14.
 Looking ahead, Lakota East will face off against Milford at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  win, something the Thunderhawks surely won't give up without a fight. Lakota West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
