Volleyball Recap: Clinton Dragons vs. Bearden Bulldogs
Bearden typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Clinton proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged the Bearden Bulldogs out 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Dragons as they're now sitting on three straight.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Clinton who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 16-25, 25-14, 21-25, 20-18.
Leading Clinton to victory were Mckenzie Crisp and Keagan Skaggs. Crisp had 20 digs and four aces, while Skaggs had ten digs and 18 assists. The dominant performance gave Crisp a new career-high in aces.
Clinton kept the net locked down and finished the game with 24 blocks. They are a perfect 3-0 when they block at leastten attacks.
Despite the loss, Bearden had strong showings from Mya Thurston, who had seven digs and 20 assists, and Alyssa Spradlin, who had 19 kills and ten digs. Spradlin is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in the last 20 games she's played dating back to last season.
