Baseball Game Preview: Palm Desert Aztecs vs. Yorba Linda Mustangs

The Palm Desert Aztecs will face off against the Yorba Linda Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Palm Desert's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canyon on Saturday. The Aztecs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Palm Desert got a good showing from Jake Brande, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Brande posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Yorba Linda narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past San Juan Hills 4-3.

Kenji Shirley looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Yorba Linda saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Talbott, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Logan Roehl was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Yorba Linda's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Palm Desert, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
