Volleyball Recap: Lawrence-Nelson Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Lawrence-Nelson came into Saturday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the East Butler Tigers 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lawrence-Nelson found their leader in sophomore Victoria Koehler, who had 15 digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Koehler.

Lawrence-Nelson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

East Butler's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Emerson Krivanek and Jessie Prochaska. Krivanek had seven digs and one assist, while Prochaska had ten digs.

Lawrence-Nelson's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for East Butler, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lawrence-Nelson will challenge Elm Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Butler, they will square off against Fullerton on Tuesday.
