Volleyball Recap: Freedom Patriots vs. Watauga Pioneers

Freedom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Watauga Pioneers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-4, 25-12.

Addison Parker had a dynamite game for Watauga, getting 16 aces and four digs. The dominant performance gave Parker a new career-high in aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Childers, who had nine digs and five aces.

Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Watauga, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.

Freedom will square off against Alexander Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Alexander Central is coming into the matchup with four straight victories on the road, so Freedom will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Watauga, they will head out to take on Ashe County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ashe County will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Watauga surely won't give up without a fight.
