Softball Recap: Brillion Lions vs. New Holstein Huskies

If Brillion was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Sheboygan Falls last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the New Holstein Huskies by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost seven in a row.

Grace Krueger put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Krueger wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Amaya Brooks, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

The Lions (ranked 21st) will meet Roncalli (ranked 230th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, New Holstein will take on Kiel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (96 vs. 211).
