Basketball Recap: Columbia Independent Piles Up the Points Against Bevier

Columbia Independent won against Madison last Monday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Columbia Independent simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bevier Wildcats 61-26. That looming 61-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Columbia Independent yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbia Independent to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blake Morris, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Morris' 12th in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deolu Adibiyi, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 15 points and five steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Columbia Independent and bumps their season record up to 7-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.5 points. As for Bevier, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Columbia Independent will venture away from home to square off against Chamois at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bevier, they will welcome Green City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
