Baseball Recap: White Pine Triumphs

After only two runs in their last contest, White Pine made sure to put some runs up on the board against Pinecrest Academy Cadence on Friday. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Cougars.

Jacob Hall and Maddox Sedlacek did most of the damage at the plate: Hall went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one triple, while Sedlacek went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases Hall has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jacob Derbidge, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

White Pine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinecrest Academy Cadence only posted a batting average of .267.

White Pine's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, White Pine will head out to square off against River Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dust Devils have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, they will be taking part in a tournament against Liberty Baptist Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.71 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
