Basketball Recap: Irvine Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Irvine won the last time they faced Laguna Hills, and Cooper Stearns did his part to make sure it happened again. The Irvine Vaqueros strolled past the Laguna Hills Hawks with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 60-42 thanks in part to Stearns, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 24 boards. Those 24 rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Irvine's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Laguna Hills, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-7.

Irvine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 48-39 victory against Tesoro on the 21st. As for Laguna Hills, they will be taking part in a tournament against Edison at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edison will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Laguna Hills surely won't give up without a fight.
