Vandegrift is a perfect 7-0 against Round Rock Westwood since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Vandegrift's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Brown, who rushed for 116 yards and two scores on only 14 carries. Those 116 rushing yards gave Brown a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Miles Teodecki, who threw for 214 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vandegrift was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 270 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hutto only rushed for 57.
Vandegrift didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Luke Davis and Griffin Gorrebeeck. Vandegrift got some further help from Hugo DeLaVara Vazquez: he picked up two sacks and made six total tackles.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Round Rock Westwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Stony Point 35-7. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won three contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Vandegrift better keep an eye on Wade Allen. He was instrumental in Round Rock Westwood's win, rushing for 229 yards and four TDs.
Vandegrift's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Round Rock Westwood, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Vandegrift has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 168.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Round Rock Westwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 168.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
