Orcutt Academy took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Valley Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Orcutt Academy Spartans had just enough and edged out the Valley Christian Academy Lions 4-3. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 14-8 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Joshua Chambers made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Chambers wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ian Brady, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Brady also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

The victory got Orcutt Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Valley Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Orcutt Academy will take on Nipomo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be Nipomo's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Valley Christian Academy, they will challenge More at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
