Basketball Game Preview: Appoquinimink Jaguars vs. Christiana Vikings

The Appoquinimink Jaguars are taking a road trip to take on the Christiana Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Appoquinimink duked it out withHoward on Tuesday. Appoquinimink fell 51-42 to Howard. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Wildcats are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Christiana won against Newark Charter School on Thursday with 52 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Christiana breezed by Newark to the tune of 52-6. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly 46 points.

The win (which was Christiana's third in a row) raised their record to 3-9. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.3 points per game. As for Appoquinimink, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Everything came up roses for Appoquinimink against Christiana in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 61-19 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Appoquinimink since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
