Preview: Syracuse Bulldogs vs. Elkhart Wildcats
Syracuse is 2-8 against the Wildcats since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Syracuse Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Elkhart Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Syracuse: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while the Wildcats have snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
Last Tuesday, Syracuse strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 41-27. The win was just what Syracuse needed coming off of a 45-19 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Elkhart was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 50-49 to the Trojans. Elkhart has struggled against the Trojans recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bella Brillhart, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Madyson Brillhart was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Syracuse's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Elkhart, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Syracuse came up short against the Wildcats when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 49-40. Can Syracuse avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
