Baseball Recap: Troy Christian Extends Winning Streak to Three

Troy Christian won against Milton-Union last Thursday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Eagles walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Riverside Pirates. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Judah Simmons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Landon Day was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Logan Broomhall was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Troy Christian's record now sits at 9-3. As for Riverside, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Troy Christian will challenge Miami East at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverside, they will take on Lehman Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
