Volleyball Recap: Greenbrier Comes Up Short

Greenbrier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grovetown Warriors. The Wolfpack were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Grovetown found their leader in sophomore Adelena Marquez, who had 13 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Marquez is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

Greenbrier's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Grovetown, they moved to 2-7 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Greenbrier will venture away from home to face off against Oconee County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grovetown, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Harlem on the 19th.
