Loudoun County hasn't had much luck against Briar Woods recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Captains will square off against the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Loudoun County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13 runs per game this season.

Loudoun County blew Tuscarora out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Tuscarora got their revenge. The Captains fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 9-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jacob Martin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Calvin Rosati also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, while Briar Woods put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Westfield. The Falcons put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-0 victory. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

The win made it two in a row for Briar Woods and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Loudoun County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Loudoun County couldn't quite get it done against Briar Woods in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-5. Can the Captains avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
