Baseball Recap: Osage City Has No Trouble Against Council Grove

Osage City got themselves on the board against Council Grove on Friday, but Council Grove never followed suit. They blew past the Braves 7-0. Considering the Indians have won four games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Logan McKinney, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Hawk Shopteese, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Osage City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Osage City is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Council Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osage City will venture away from home to challenge Baldwin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Council Grove, they will take on Trinity Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
