Baseball Recap: Washington's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Washington hadn't done well against Kent County recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Jaguars walked away with a 4-1 win over the Trojans. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 9-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cole Miles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Dawson Daniels was incredible, firing off two home runs and two stolen bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Washington's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 1-13 when he doesn't).

Washington lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Washington's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-14. As for Kent County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
