West Shores is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after opening their season on the road. They took a blow against Desert Christian, falling 65-6. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row dating back to last season.
Despite their defeat, West Shores saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jesus Perez, who picked up 88 receiving yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Perez got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 55 yards.
Meanwhile, Southlands Christian made easy work of Lucerne Valley last Friday and carried off a 28-8 win. With the Eagles ahead 22-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
West Shores took a serious blow against Southlands Christian in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, falling 50-8. Thankfully for West Shores, Noah Sadler (who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 67 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
