Basketball Recap: Mayville Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Mayville lost against Lomira back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The match between the Mayville Cardinals and the Lomira Lions didn't end well, with the Mayville Cardinals falling 63-48. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while the Lions are ranked 133rd).

Mayville's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10. As for Lomira, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Mayville is taking a road trip to take on Laconia at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. Laconia will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Mayville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lomira, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lomira Lions challenge the Campbellsport Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. Lomira is facing Campbellsport at the right time seeing as Campbellsport is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
