Flanagan gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 40-24 victory over the Cypress Bay Lightning. The Falcons pushed the score to 34-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lightning cut but never quite recovered from.

Chance Humphrey was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 107 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown. Jahmari Johnston was another key player, picking up 37 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Despite the loss, Cypress Bay still got an impressive performance from Logan P, who rushed for 41 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 141 yards on 16 of 34 attempts.

Cypress Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Flanagan has already played their next matchup (against Everglades), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Cypress Bay, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McArthur at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
