Basketball Recap: Wood County Christian Takes a Loss

Wood County Christian lost against Grace Christian back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wood County Christian Wildcat were outmatched by Grace Christian and fell 66-36. The Wildcat were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.

It was another big night for Bryce Ray, who went 8 for 14 en route to 24 points and five steals for Grace Christian. Those five steals gave Ray a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Johnston, who went 6 of 7 to rack up 18 points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Wood County Christian and nudges their season record down to 8-6. As for Grace Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Wood County Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-43 defeat against Frontier on the 8th. As for Grace Christian, they will face off against Covenant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
