Baseball Recap: Antioch Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Antioch barely beat Lakes the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sequoits' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Sequoits have posted against the Eagles since April 12, 2022.

Antioch got a great performance from Ben Clausen as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.2 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Clausen a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Mozina, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zach Rubin, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Antioch's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lakes, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6.
