Volleyball Recap: Mineral Wells Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Mineral Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Boyd Yellowjackets. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Yellowjackets when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-8, 25-15.

Emeri Boswell paced Mineral Wells' offense, picking up six kills. Boswell got some help from Jaylee Newman and her six assists. Finally, Kynlee Harkins kept Mineral Wells' defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Boyd was led to victory by Bryleigh Wallace and Payton Sowell. Wallace had 15 digs and five aces, while Sowell had six aces and one assist. Those six aces gave Sowell a new career-high.

Mineral Wells' defeat dropped their record down to 10-12-1. As for Boyd, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-9.

Looking ahead, Mineral Wells will face off against Pantego Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boyd, they will square off against Nocona at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
